About this app

We have selected approximately 400 species of plants that are commonly found in Japan's coasts and low mountains (approximately 500 meters above sea level), and have included simple explanations and photos.
Although we mainly focus on outdoor plants, we also feature plants planted by people.
However, ferns and moss plants that do not bloom are not listed.
In the 400-species version, you can search from simple combinations of features using only basic searches.
Plants are displayed in the alphabetical order of their standard Japanese names.
Although there are only a few types, there are many search items, so if you have too many search items to choose from, you may not be able to find anything.
Please note that this app is an "introductory version", so if you would like to see more plants or if 400 species is not enough, there is also a paid version with 1200 species, so please take a look at the information posted here.

[Introduction]
This app has a search screen divided into 5 parts.
If you press the words Home, Stems, Leaves, Flowers, Fruits in the black stripe at the top of the screen, the screen will change, so please feel free to select.
You can start your search from any screen
In addition, all search conditions selected on each search screen are interpreted by connecting them with AND.
[How to search]
①Press the button for the item you want to search. The button color will change to orange.
② If you want to cancel the selected condition, press the same button or press another button in the same category.
(Only one item can be selected in a category separated by a gray band)
Repeat steps ①-② to select conditions.
③Click the "Condition display" button at the bottom to display the previous search conditions.
④ Once you have selected the desired conditions, press the "List display" or "Sequential display" button at the bottom.
⑤ If "Not applicable" is displayed, an unintended condition may have been selected, so check with the "Display conditions" button (the most common cause is when the previous search conditions remain)
Change the search conditions by performing steps ①-⑤
⑥Click the "Cancel conditions" button at the bottom to cancel the conditions on all pages.
When starting a new search, use this operation to clear the previous search conditions (especially useful if the previous search conditions are on multiple pages)
⑦ In case of "List display", a list of flower color (left side) / Japanese name / distribution / fruit color (right side) will be displayed.
⑧Tap to display a screen with photos and explanations of that type.
⑨ In the case of "Sequential display", the photos and explanations of the seeds will be displayed in alphabetical order of the Japanese names.
The search will repeat the above
●If you select multiple plants, please note that some may not be applicable due to the number of plants listed.
We will continue to improve the number of publications, content, search methods, etc. from time to time, so please use this site for a long time.
【Other features】
You can hide plant names in "rote memorization mode"
Press the gear icon on the top right of the initial screen to open the settings screen and turn on the radio button.
"Rote memorization mode" does not display the Japanese name until you tap the photo, so please use the "Sequential display" button instead of "List display" to check your own knowledge.
