About this game

This app provides a lightweight, convenient, and ad-free way to manage your Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition spellbook and determine relevant spell properties while playing. Separate lists of favorite, known, and prepared spells can each be kept for multiple characters. No network connection is required.

Included are spells from four D&D 5e sourcebooks:
-Player's Handbook
-Xanathar's Guide to Everything
-Tasha's Cauldron of Everything
-Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

Spells can be searched by name for quick access. You can also sort and filter the spells by a variety of options. Sorting is two-level, with the option to set each level to ascending/descending. Sortable fields include:
-Name
-School
-Level
-Range
-Duration
-Casting Time

Spells can be filtered by any combination of the following:
-Level
-Components
-Sourcebook
-School
-Casting Time
-Duration
-Range
-Concentration
-Ritual

All of the necessary information about spellcasting, both general and class-specific, can be accessed via the info button in the top right.

Other features include:
-Pull down to refresh current spell list, if necessary
-Long press on a star button to unselect all other options of the same type

This is a fine spellbook app, but I have a few complaints. For one, there are certain absent filters I feel should be included, like "Subclass," "Saving Throw," and "Damage Type." For two, the explanation for the "Royalty" component is absent from the "components" section of the info menu. The rest are mostly nitpicks about design (like separating the levels of the spells with a header), or ideas that could be implemented to improve the app (such as the ability to create your own custom spells).

Get this instead of D&D beyond. Genuinely the best way to organize and look up spells on the fly, and easy to use. You can also make custom spell lists for multiple characters which is real convenient. Note to the devs, There is an error in the Contagion spell. It says that the disease in Contagion activates if the melee spell attack hits, but it shouldn't activate unless that creature also fails three saving throws. However this is the only error I have seen so far in 2 years of using this app.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad the app has been so useful for you. And thanks for pointing out the issue with Contagion's text - I'll fix that for the next release.

Good app, easy to use. Does everything it should, and almost everything I would like it to. As for that last bit though it is somewhat important. The problem is simple. There is no way to add your homebrewed spells to the book, or 3rd party spells for that matter. In essence this app needlessly limits itself in the way all walled gardens limit themselves. Making it only potentially useful, not certainly useful.

What's new

The spellbook has been updated with the following new features:
- The ability to filter spells by royalty has been added
- The count for each spell list can now be shown next to the list name in both the side menu and the bottom navigation bar. This can be enabled or disabled from the settings screen.

Additionally, this update fixes some typos and mistakes in the text for a few spells.
