The mobile application «Self-Rescuer», designed to significantly improve the safety of people, is recommended to install to all those who do care about their safety and the safety of their loved ones.
The main purpose of creating the mobile application is to increase the level of safety of citizens, including children, by using modern methods and technologies for rapid informing and rapid response to emergencies. This is the quick search for people, including children, lost in the area (forests, mountains, metropolitan areas). If a person is lost or feels unwell (they have a sprained ankle and cannot move independently in the forest, etc.), they can, by pressing a button in a special application, send automatically generated message to their relatives and family, and if necessary – to the appropriate emergency services (101, 102, 103, 112) in one click. Having a person’s coordinates makes it very easy to their relatives and services to find them and provide the necessary help in a timely way, which is very important. After receiving a signal from the victim, the emergency services can call them to find out the circumstances. The possibility of the automatic post of the SOS signal from the victim on their Facebook page to help their friends to search, is also provided.
One of the necessary functions of the «Self-Rescue» is the display in red in the map those who need help. The tourists who are nearby are able to provide aid much faster than if those who need it waited for the emergency services or friends and relatives to reach the venue. To turn this on, you need to enable the GPS tracker function in the application settings.
Even if a person is in the potential threat of danger, an auto-generated location signal is sent to the searchers from the mobile app in one click. Also, in one click the child can tell their parents or the loved ones about the danger they are in. However, the geolocation (GPS) must be enabled on the smartphone.
The mobile app section for the elderly is particularly valuable. Having fallen down, people often are not able to stand up on their own to find a cell phone in the apartment and inform their relatives about what has happened, or for example, if a person is in hospital and needs to call a doctor but the phone is far from them. In such a case, the bracelets and pendants that will constantly be on the person are assumed.
The first versions of the mobile application «Self-Rescue» provide the following functions and information sections:
- «SOS» button. Location data will be automatically forwarded to the phones of parents and relatives, and in some cases will inform the emergency services (addressees are submitted by the user in advance);
- first aid instruction (indirect cardiac massage, artificial ventilation, safe position of the victim, numbers of the emergency services phones, etc.);
- algorithm of actions in case of natural and technogenic emergencies;
The following versions will provide the localization of the mobile application in at least three languages: Ukrainian, Polish, English.
