App works decently, but it could really use some improvements and have more options. For instance, not being able to force rotation is a pretty large limitation when you consider that some phone's USB ports aren't located at the bottom. For me, I have one at the bottom, but when I use a cable I find it awfully inconvenient that I have to orientate it upsidedown, I can't for example clip it on my front pocket or shirt. Though I understand the need for calibration, I don't see why there couldn't be an option to disable auto calibration like the FLIR which can be useful for people who care less about temperature precision but more for observing temperature differences and want to temporarily suppress the shutter from clicking. Sometimes using the UI can be a little cumbersome, for example when I change color palettes while digitally zoomed, it zooms back out on every selection. This also includes changing the mode. I'm not sure if this is possible currently, but I'm unable to drag the crosshair or touch a locstion to see its temperature. Would have been nice to be able to do that and also be able to add multiple crosshairs. This would just be a software limitation rather than hardware. One very important thing I would really like to see is an SDK to be made available to the public. I cannot find a single alternative app for it and it seems like it would be mutually beneficial to both the company and consumers to have more options for apps which could potentially improve the usage of this product. For example, I would love to see a Google Cardboard application for it like the FLIR has. Overall though I am pretty satisfied with the hardware, just seems unnecessary though to have a closed gate in the software realm and to have such simple limitations which can potentially be a deal breaker for others who don't have a USB port on the bottom. Update Nov 27th 2018: Excited to see an app update. Latency seems to have been noticeably reduced, glad to see improvements.

It's a great device. But the recent requirement for persistent location data is excessive. Why do you need it all of the time, Seek? It refuses to open up less you grant it. Very in line with how they've been in the past: the app used to require you to register. Seek eventually capitulated and included the option to opt out. Hopefully they do it again. Excessive permissions lost them respect.

The app should not require you to sign in each time you use it. We are looking into this - and once you register your basic info - you no longer need to sign in or be signed in to use at any time. Stay tuned and we are looking into it immediately.

This app and associated thermal camera were excellent until the developer demanded that the user turn on the location and microphone permissions. Neither is necessary for the camera to function. Obviously the developer wants to mine data, without compensating the user. I suggest looking at a FLIR instead of this... unless FLIR tries the same tactic. Basically, I get put off by arrogant, high handed, cram it down my throat developers. If they change their app, I would change my rating. Thank you.
