Most user reviews suggest that Airyware Tuner is the best guitar tuner. However, this app is not exclusively for tuning guitars. It can assist in tuning over 400 orchestral instruments, including the piano, violin, flute, bagpipe, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, cello, mandolin, veena, church organ, harmonica, recorder, guitar, ukulele, bass, banjo, and more. It performs equally well on stage, at home, or on the street. Bass guitar players and contrabassists particularly love it. Piano tuners and luthiers use it professionally. With its instant reaction, scientific precision, waveform inspector, denoiser, and true strobe view, this tuner is the choice of musicians who demand only the best sound.

Easy to see a ways off, chromatic, sensitive, opens fast. In other words, right what I wanted. THANK YOU. Looked at at least seven others. Update: Oops trial period over. Didn't catch the trial period thing. Pretty quick on it too. Would love to drop the 5 bucks right out of my earnings from playing such an in-tune guitar. Update 2 OK, great tuner but the trial period over thing pops up a couple of times on each string and more or less blocks use, so.... been fun darling, bye bye. Uninstalled.

This app is amazing, it can detect the minute variations that occur from the moment I pluck the string (slightly sharp) till the sound dies out completely (slightly flat). I can hear such variations, but I have trained myself to ignore them for the sake of expediency, now I can confirm my suspicion that it is time to change the string based on those variations.

So... Here's the bottom line. The big name brands who are in this category who should have excellent mobile tuning apps. Don't. It's almost astonishing. Save yourself a lot of time and frustration, OK. Purchase this app and know the few bucks it's costing you is buying you the best mobile tuner available on the Play store. Pitch is dead on accurate. Many alternative tunes are available. To the developer: get some better quality pitch sounds in this app. Immediately.
