The Gel Plaster Nexus application and the Gel Blaster Portal are compatible with all blasters, including the Surge and the Surge XL.

Connecting to your Portal requires a Bluetooth® connection enabled on your device, and an internet connection to download firmware updates.

Spent hours trying to get this app to work. It does not connect to the device. Followed all the instructions exactly. Performed all the troubleshooting steps. Contacted Customer Support. Still does not connect... it takes forever trying to update the portal to the current firmware, only to stall out when it reaches 100% or when it gets to the "adding" step.

At first we struggled to use this and ive read lots of others have as well so i was a bit nervous. However it turned out after contacting the support team that it was an issue with updating on my android phone. Luckily my son has an iphone and we were able to update it and play. Like all new things, u gotta work out this kinks. All in all this is a great product and so fun to play with my son! And the tech support was fast responding and helpful! What more could u want out of a product!

edit: turns out I was wrong! the targets were paired to another phone. when i reached out to support, they were very prompt and directed me on how to put the targets back in pairing mode. -factory reset by hitting the bottom panel multiple times while it is powering up- works now! actually very fun and the new team based games are a nice addition. original: (app unable to connect to target after recent update)
