Items
Items are the basic unit of Fogo. An item can be a media file, a document file, a note, a webpage, or a contact. Each item may have an optional title, description, location, and date. Even the buttons on the home screen and the home screen itself are items that you may link with your data.
Adding Items
Items may be added by sharing them from other apps, by browsing or scanning your device files, or by creating new items within Fogo. Item properties can be edited after adding.
Viewing Items
The home screen offers several ways to start viewing your items. Tapping the icon of an item selects it and either shows its linked items (see below), or highlights it on a map or calendar, whichever was used last (links if none used).
Tapping the icon of an already selected item launches full-screen slideshow mode in which you can go back and forth between items in the current context. Full-screen mode can also be started by long-touching an item and tapping the full-screen button.
Tapping the play button at the bottom right of the screen launches an external app for the selected item if applicable, such as a web browser or video player. If an external app is not applicable then full-screen mode is launched.
Links
Links are how you can add structure to your items. Fogo doesn't impose a predefined structure such as a hierarchical folder/file system. Every item is equal, and any item can be linked to any other item, or any number of other items. If you wish, you can create a hierarchical structure, a complex web, or just do simple things like linking contacts to a photo of the people appearing in it.
To link two items choose one to be made "linkable". Actually, every item is linkable; this just makes it easy to find later on. If one item is more likely to be linked to in the future choose that one, but it doesn't really matter. Long-touch it and select "Accept links" in the presented options.
Then long-touch the other item, tap the link icon, and select the desired item in the presented list.
