How to play the backgammon game

- Classic backgammon is a logic puzzle for two, played on a board of 24 triangles. These triangles are called points.
- Each player sits on the opposite sides of the board with 15 checkers, black or white.
- To start the game, players take turns and roll the dice. That’s why free backgammon is often called a dice game.
- Players move pieces based on the numbers rolled. For example, if you roll 2 and 5, you can move one piece 2 points and another one 5 points. Alternatively, you can move one piece 7 points.
- Once all of a player’s pieces are in his or her “home”, that player may begin removing pieces off of the backgammon board.
- A player wins once all of their pieces are removed from the board

A few more things to know about this free Backgammon game

- Rolling two of the same number allows you to move 4 times. For example, for a roll of 4 and 4, you can move a total of 16 points, although each piece must move 4 points at a time.
- You cannot move a piece to a point that is occupied by 2 or more of your opponent’s pieces while playing a backgammon game.
- If you move a piece to a point with only 1 of your opponent’s pieces on it, the rival’s piece is removed from the board and placed on the middle partition.

I haven't played backmmon in 25 years. I was excited to find it. Trying to teach myself how to play again. BUT it really sucks when you throw an ad in "every 2 moves" seriously! I never pay to remove ads from a game. This one I probably will because when I can understand you need the ads to pay to run your games. Every 2 moves is Excessive!!!

I understand that adds are necessary to pay the bills but this is ridiculous. Double add when starting a match, double add somewhere mid-match, double add at the end of a match. O, I forgot, another double add when you launch the app before even clicking a single thing. Just asinine. I spend more time watching adds than playing matches.

I've never disliked an app so much that I decided to write a review. I enjoy playing backgammon, and everything about this app is great except one fundamental issue: the dice rolls. I've played long enough on this app to notice how the dice *always* land on chips you leave open/ plays that favor the computer/ AI. I thought at first maybe I was being biased toward remembering the "negative" rolls more (ones not in my favor) but after continuing to play, I realized it's just biased and unfair.

Hi Tali, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! We understand your concerns. While it's natural to notice certain patterns during gameplay, it's important to keep in mind that these observations may not necessarily indicate unfairness. Randomness can occasionally produce sequences that may seem unusual or non-random.
