Send SMS, create notifications, change almost any system setting like Wifi Tether, Dark Mode, Always On Display, change any volume, control Do Not Disturb, open apps, file manipulation, control music playback, get your location... you get the idea. If you can think of it, Tasker can probably do it for you!
Note: root is NOT (I repeat NOT) required for majority of the functions. However, a few of the actions (like the Kill App and Mobile Data action on some devices) require root. This is because of Android security policies that developers cannot work around.

☑ Automatic File Backups
If you set it up to do so, Tasker can automatically backup your files to a specific folder on the device, SD card, USB key or even Google Drive! This is useful if you want to keep your files safe even if you lose your phone.

By your request (if you set up a task to do so), Tasker can automatically check a website for updated APKs, receive those APKs from said websites and initiate installation of any files!

It's not possible to fix problems reported via Play Store Comments so please use the "Report Issue To Developer" option in the app > Menu to do so.

Note 1: Tasker uses the BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN permission in order to provide the System Lock functionality

Note 2: Tasker uses an accessibility service for some of its features like closing the notification tray,checking which app is currently opened and more.

Ratings and reviews

I have been using Tasker for years now. Mostly i use it for little things that my phone really should be able to do, but can't. However the power that this app (and suite of addons) gives you is phenomenal! I like to automate whatever I can, and Tasker allows me to do that. I wish there was an extra star to give a higher rating! Also, the support is amazing.

Quite simply the best app on my phone. Takes a while to get your head around how to use it, but it's much easier now than a few years ago, with profiles written by others readily available. Automate anything on your phone. Some of my favourites, phone in silent mode when I'm at work, NFC turns on only when Google pay is being used, dodgy proximity sensor solved by phone auto locking combination of proximity and phone call, Spotify auto plays in the car, autorotate for YouTube, just amazing!

Brilliant. I can now connect my phone to Android Auto in my car and my phone automatically turns off wifi and turns on the gps. It also does the reverse when I disconnect from Android Auto. It may seem like a small thing, but it's removed an absolute annoyance every time I got in my car. On top of this, Joao, the developer, supported me through a restriction with my phone and solved the problem. What a legend. Highly recommended!
