Take your Steam friends, groups, and conversations with you wherever you go.

The Steam Chat app includes many key features of the desktop Steam client chat, including:
Friends List – See who’s in game or online at a glance. You'll see your custom categories and favorites bar just like you can on your PC.
Rich Chat – Your chats get even better with higher fidelity links, videos, tweets, GIFs, Giphy, Steam emoticons, and more.
Invite Links – Add new friends on Steam with a link. Generate an invite link you can text or email.
Customizable Notifications – Mobile notifications mean you'll never miss a message or game invite. You can customize your notifications per friend, group chat, and chat channel.
Group Chats - Get everyone on the same page. Groups make it easier to do things like stay in touch with your communities and organize game night with your best friends.

Ratings and reviews

The best thing about it is having chat notifications. The app itself is no good - bugs sending messages, emotes, uploading pictures is impossible. Opening the chat in the site is a better experience - the UI looks like the one on PC, while imperfect does it all. I've had no bugs whatsoever so far with the site, so try there.

The app is beyond unusable on the highest end hardware available (SD 8G2). Freezes constantly, crashes, can't send images or play video and it lags like crazy if you type more than a sentence. Plus, no notifications at all. I don't think I've ever used an app this bad from an official source. It's beyond atrocious. I have no idea why they don't care to fix it, if I didn't have a 2nd phone running iOS I wouldn't be able to talk to my Steam friends when I'm not home at all. Inexcusable.

Has become completely nonfunctional as of late, for at least a couple of weeks. I have full access to all areas of steam and perfect connection, but this app is just refusing to connect. It was working seamlessly for years otherwise, I don't know what changed but I've tried pretty much everything I can think of. There's very little to no information on fixing "Unable to connect to steam." error.
