Okta Verify is a lightweight app that allows you to securely access your apps via 2-step verification, ensuring that you, and only you, can access your app accounts.

While you access your apps, you'll choose a 2-step verification method provided by Okta Verify to finish signing in. You can verify your identity using a push notification sent to your device (if enabled by your organization), a temporary 6-digit code, or biometrics (if enabled by your organization).

We do request permission to use your device camera so that you can scan a QR code when you enroll your device with Okta.

Ratings and reviews

The app and push notifications work up until they don't. It doesn't seem to matter if you leave it running in the background and disable power optimization for this. After a few days, the app stops working (no push notification, can't launch and load). When this happens, I've found that I need to restart the entire phone in order to get the app to work.

Works until it doesn't. Even when allowing the app to use the battery in the background, every few days the icon disappears and the app no longer opens. at that point I have to clear the cache, data, and re-enter all of my information. This is getting so repetitive, inefficient, and annoying. I wish my company still allowed us to verify by getting a code by text.

app mostly works as intended - however I have noticed that it is constantly active in the background. If you "close all" to close all apps that are minimized, it doesn't close Okta. Your background apps will still show Okta active, and needs to be closed there. There's no reason for Okta to require constant background usage, no other authenticator apps do this. I know it's not malicious, but this definitely should be addressed by the developers as it is doubtfully intentional.
