Far better without the comments section. When I first downloaded the app a couple of years ago, I thought it would be a good place to have proper discussions with open-minded people who want to hear differing opinions. Sadly, the comments were hardly ever anything but toxic. There was rampant anti-science rhetoric and misinformation one would expect from the bowels of social media platforms. Thankfully, that is all gone and the app is exactly what it should be, a place to form your own opinion by seeing all sides of the story. A minor negative is an imperfect algorithm for sorting stories. Sometimes unrelated stories are grouped together, or sources that reported the same story aren't grouped together, or the headline on the thumbnail says one thing, then when clicking on it it ends up being a different story. Works most of the time!

I appreciate the idea, the effort. But all these sites wanting to place cookies and having to reject/accept them at almost each article becomes really annoying. Also too much screen real estate devoted to advertising. Cumbersome to navigate. *at least one site told me I've attained the maximum number of articles after I did "reject all". Others only showed part of an article and wanted me to subscribe to read the rest.

When purchasing a subscription, the price came up as only around 6 dollars a month. I thought I would try it out and see if I like it. Upon checking out I realized they had charged me for an entire year and only put that information at the bottom of the screen, so I only saw it after confirming the purchase. It was clearly manipulative in its design, which just leaves a bad taste. Edit: The app itself is pretty good so far. It is what I claims to be. (Much better once you curate your feed)
