Note: This app uses Local LLMs to run. The app downloads a 4GB Large Language Model (LLM / brains of the AI) after the it starts for the first time. This is only needed once. This technology is VERY new, right now we only support the latest flagship phones (8GB+ RAM). If your phone does not meet the minimum requirements, you may experience degraded performance. I like Layla and I really want to use it more, but I wish the experience was simpler and more straightforward. There are a lot of settings and options that can make getting started feel unnecessarily complicated, especially for someone who just wants to pick a character and start chatting. I'd love to see a simpler "just start chatting" experience, with the more advanced settings kept available for people who want them. The app has a lot of potential, and making it easier to use would be amazing

Too complicated to use; it doesn't work offline, and there's a lot to download, but no results. Also steals data. You can't do anything freely; everything has problems and complications.

I've used a lot of AI apps. I even write my own CLIs with llama.cp/Antigravity CLI. This is honestly the best app on Google Play for AI. $20 as a one-time payment is a great business model as opposed to subscriptions. The add-on modules are extensive, but require a learning curve. The app needs a lot of work & tuning, but it's developing well. I would recommend adding a beta program for those who are willing to give data & feedback. Crashes don't happen when you use Cloud Model as a backend.
