Firewall: Prevent apps from connecting to the Internet. Block spyware, malware, ransomware and more.

A firewall blocks any app connecting to the Internet over WiFi or Mobile data. Since most forms of surveillance require the data to be sent the network to a server, firewalling them effectively mitigates the threat (File Managers, Alarm Clock, Calculator are few such examples of apps that do not require any Internet access to function). The firewall feature uses Accessibility Service to detect and firewall background applications.

Monitoring: Keep tabs on incoming and outgoing Internet traffic.

If enabled, the connectivity logs are collected and analyzed. Automated reports flag previously unknown or suspicious connections, and reveal the extent of attempt to steal data by spyware networks. In our tests, around 60% of the traffic is flagged and reported as being initiated by known spyware. Logs generated are made available in near-real time to the user for their own analysis.

WireGuard: Secure outgoing Internet traffic.

The app uses fast, modern, light-weight, and secure WireGuard protocol to encrypt outgoing connections to any compatible VPN provider of your choice.

Anti-censorship:

The app encrypts your internet connection to Domain Name System (DNS) server run by Rethink with presence in our 300+ locations world-wide. DNS servers are the address book of the internet: A DNS server provides the exact addresses you need to visit a website or open an app.

Data Monitor: Track per-app and per-connection Mobile or WiFi data usage.

Ratings and reviews

Great app! However, I think there are two more settings that would make it even more effective, especially for users who use the built-in DNS filter and/or the firewall rules to overcome addiction to some web content or apps. One called "Lock Configuration", which allows users to set a timer or a tedious task (e.g. answering 99 easy questions like: 63-18=?) to discourage them from making unwanted changes later on. And another one called "Prevent App Uninstall" to eliminate their last hope. ;)

So far, good impression in first install. I will further test it. It looks good for a free open source app. Minus one star for bug, and no option to add other sources. Please add feature where we can see which is blocking something so we can easily adjust our list. They removed the advertised VPN so it's now only DNS and Firewall. Filter lists appear to be nerfed instead of the original complete source so I'm using AdAway instead. Adult blocklists not working.

i'm trying to use this app to stop ads like on MX Player by stopping the internet/data connection for that app. but it is the same as NetGuard or similar apps. i can somehow stop it but the ads will be shown as blank ads. just a pop-up without any image nor video. but blank ads can have waiting time too. and if you clicked accidentally the ad area, you will still get redirected to some ad sites. the only thing that it can stop is the ads blocking the screen when you pause the player.
