Edit: Since the new update, the game is not fun anymore. I stopped playing nor I don't have any motivation to return. The other reviews explain it perfectly. /// Original: Didn't pay one penny, invested a lot of time and I'm at a very good level. Sometimes it's not about having 4 star characters, but knowing the weak points to breach the defenses of the enemy. Super fun game in general, and make sure you play it with a strong connection.

Casual game done badly. Not casual enough for my dad to understand, not deep enough for any regular person who's played any competitive game. It's repetitive, pay to win, and SERIOUSLY lacks depth for a multiplayer game. The only real strategy or gameplay depth is decicing which one of your 3 randomly assigned characters you choose in chests, and some basic positioning. Imagine a strategy game, but the only strategy part is largely luck-based (and p2w)

Way to many bugs and just boring all together. Sometimes during the game mode selection I'll just get a black screen and end up with no modifiers while everyone else gets them, spells don't show when you place them, games are heavily reliant on what characters you have, and getting upgrades takes forever to the point where it's not even fun playing anymore.
