About this app

šŸŒ•šŸŒ–šŸŒ—šŸŒ˜šŸŒ‘šŸŒ’šŸŒ“šŸŒ”šŸŒ•

Spectacular, interactive 3D simulation of the moon, right down to the shadows in the craters and earthshine on the dark side. Touch screen control changes date and time as seen from your location - the phase tracks your every move. Use two fingers to spin the moon itself (see the far side!) and zoom in to see lunar features up close.

What happened to the shortcut? There used to be the image of the current moon phase for my area right in the shortcut, so it wouldn't even be necessary to open the app unless more info was wanted. Losing this option is very disappointing. After a reply from the developer, I added the adjustable widget to my home screen and have just what I wanted. Updating review to 5 stars. Thank you!

The app has never been able to show the phase in the shortcut (such things aren't possible on Android) so I'm guessing you previously had a 1x1 widget instead. Try that and see if it looks right!

It's a nice little app. However, there should be an option to turn off notifications for events not visible to the user. I keep getting a repeated notification, even after I swipe it away, for an active penumbral eclipse, which is not visible in my location - which the app also tells me. An option to disable notifications for non-visible events is required.

A forthcoming update makes notifications optional for eclipses that aren't visible from your location. And I thought I'd fixed the "repeating notification" bug over the summer - but it's tough to test for real until an eclipse occurs! I'll try again to fix it for good. šŸ™„

Don't stargaze without it! Know exactly when the moon will be out of your way for observing. Functional and beautiful. As if this app couldn't get better. The WearOS watch face gives great at-a-glance moon rise and set times. It also supports complications, so you can add other widgets to the watch, such as sun rise/set times. Looks great, too!
