It can help, but it doesn't really understand how specific topics are talked about. for example, I'm trying to learn German, specifically German music theory, but it doesn't understand how the words are properly used, so I ended up with some very strange phrases. I did learn some useful words, but it also makes you repeat yourself a lot. It also sometimes forgets the exact sentence you learnt and changed the grammar of it at times, which is confusing.

I really want to like this app... however, I've tried it with both Polish and Spanish—languages I speak at very different levels—and it has different but equally frustrating issues. Most notably, it struggles with speech-to-text and frequently converts what I say in Polish into whatever it would sound like to a German speaker. With Spanish, which I just need to refresh, it lacks the necessary flexibility. I just don't think the technology is there yet, you guys...

So I thought it would be fun to learn Japanese this way. I started at beginner level, introduction conversation. The "well done" etc sounded quite promising. But after making a big mistake, the program still said it was good. So I decided to test it's capability and answered in my local language dialect. Guess what? Still well done, said the app. So all the voice input is non-functioning it seems. So I wonder, is this a scam to capture our voice for AI-training, or even more darker purposes???
