About this app

The Tilt 2 app is the official app for TILT hydrometers. Use the app to log specific gravity and temperature data to the cloud such as Google Sheets or other custom cloud endpoint. We support brewfather.app, brewstat.us, monitor.log and Grainfather.com among others. (Visit their respective websites to get more information on setting up the app). You can also log directly to your phone or tablet and email a CSV to yourself or others. Note that when logging you will need to be within range of your Tilt or have a phone or tablet setup next to your fermentation vessel for automatic continuous logging. (Highly recommended!). You can also calibrate your Tilt and change units from degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius and from specific gravity (60°F/15.6°C) to degrees Plato.

I see this app has somewhat negative reviews, and I think that's unfortunate. In my experience, it's a good app with interesting features that does what it's supposed to. A lot of people's problems seem to be related to the bluetooth on their phone or the device itself rather than with the app. I did dock one point, however. The UI is a bit confusing. When I start a new beer, I'd like both the beer name and the log to start over. I can never remember how to do this!

Edit: Added 1 star Two things: First, my phone connects to the Tilt half the time due to ill interactions with other apps connecting to other Bluetooth devices (namely car insurance beacon). Second, not everybody has a device within Tilt range at all times thus, this makes gravity/temp tracking/recording VERY cumbersome. I don't know what my gravity readings were between the time I left for work and came back. So I feel I'm only using half of what the device is capable.

Thanks for your feedback on Bluetooth issue. For continuous logging to a cloud logging service like Google Sheets, we recommend Raspberry Pi running our free Tilt Pi software. For more info on this see our website: https://tilthydrometer.com/products/tilt-pi-v2-buster-raspberry-pi-sd-card-image-download

It works about 50% of the time. It can be doing fine and then all of a sudden it stops, then starts again. I'm using TiltPi by both bluetooth and web app. The bluetooth Tilt2 app works fine all the time as long as you are near the Tilt. The web app is the problem. Even the time zone keeps changing and some "Code-red" pops up instead of the normal interface. I about to just give it up and just use bluetooth.

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the Tilt Pi SD card image for Raspberry Pi, the issue you're seeing appears to be and error on the SD card or an error with the download file, I recommend trying to download the file again, re-flash the card, or use a new SD card.
