About this app

This application gives CareFirst members the ability to manage their health insurance through their mobile devices by providing secure, personalized information on items ranging from claims, deductibles, who’s covered, and downloadable ID Cards, to locating a provider or urgent care center near them. Members can also register for CareFirst’s secure member site, My Account, and maintain their account and communication preferences using the application.

Ratings and reviews

Every time I accidentally close the app or look to another app for documents/info to fill out the forms, I get logged out, and all my previous files are closed and erased. Logging in is not easy as well. I know that medical information is very private, but the security process is way more complicated to my taste. If I could choose to use a fingerprint at least while working.

This app is total junk. It's rare to encounter an app with so many flaws. Nothing much works right, and plenty doesn't work at all. When a company makes such poor choices, does such a terrible job, makes such a pitiful "effort" at developing an app like this, I have to wonder, why? There are sooo many great developers out there, and sooo many examples of how to do it right. They clearly didn't bother shopping around for either. They clearly didn't bother much in the planning phase at all. Junk.

I updated a couple days ago and now all I get is a white screen with the carefirst logo and then it crashes after about 5 minutes on that screen. Before, the app was tolerable, now it just doesn't work. Hopefully it doesn't affect my monthly payments since I do everything through the app. A week later and another update. Unfortunately the app still isn't working. It crashes before even getting to login screen. Update number 2. I now get to a login screen, but it doesn't accept my login info.
