About this game

Panzer Missions is a turn based strategy game set on the eastern front during the Second World War, modelling Increasingly difficult small-scale operations with tanks, infantry and artillery units. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011. Last update July 2025

As the commanding officer of a squadron of German WWII forces, including tanks, infantry, and artillery units, your mission is to strategically navigate increasingly challenging campaigns with speed and precision. As the game progresses, you will receive better units, with the Germans transitioning from Panzer IVs to formidable Tigers, and the Russians acquiring powerful T-34 tanks.

In addition to leading your forces into battle, you must also manage crucial logistics such as fuel transportation for your armored units and ammunition delivery to your artillery using trucks. The maps are designed on a small scale, ensuring that each mission is fast-paced and action-packed, allowing you to test your tactical skills to the fullest. Victory will require planning, resource management, and strategic prowess to achieve success in the heat of WWII combat.

"The Eastern Front was a war of nerves. Both sides were constantly trying to outsmart and outmaneuver the other."
- Soviet marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky

FEATURES:

+ Quick-to-play missions, which evolve from easy to hard as your career progresses. First missions take just a handful of turns/minutes to finish, but the later ones can evolve into a bitter grind to reach the objectives.

+ Simple resource management and logistics with supply depots: Transport ammo to artillery and fuel to WSS, motorized, and tank units to keep the spearhead of your attack going.

+ Settings: Various options (split into two separate views because there are so many of them) are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, turn resource types ON/OFF, and much more.

I find Joni's games very addictive and exciting. They will make a 4 hour flight seem like 30 minutes. This is different than the other campaigns. Each individual mission is short so I find myself being able to put this away easier. It is good for some quick fun.

An excellent intro to the conflict series. If you are a fan of hex wargames, the games by this developer are a must buy. Hours of fun packed into a small sized application for a very minimal one time price.

Joni has really improved the AI on this game, making it really challenging as you progress. My only complaint is that when my units get encircled, they're encircled. On the Soviet side, if you encircle their cities or units, it may take up to 10 turns before the AI shows it

Hi, we have talked about these things in emails, in which you threaten & complain, and every single time I have written back calmly explaining the reasons why things are developed into current direction, why some of your ideas will be implemented but it takes time, when I ask for more information i never get a constructive reply, just more yelling.

What’s new

+ Units are closer to the front line at the start of each mission
+ Added the Cliff-system
+ Tweaking the mission-structures after the previous rewrite of the ancient code
