Folder Player Pro is a directory - centric music\mp3 player and is a more advanced version of its free counterpart.
It adds the following capabilities on top of free version:

- Priority updates
- Unlimited tagging, allowing you to create multiple "playlists"
- Extended cross-fading functionality
- Ability to auto-delete tracks during playback
- Option to stop on power loss
- Option to continue playback for next folder, after current folder finishes
- M3U support


Some of the other features shared between two editions:

- playing folder trees AND individual files within folders
- integration with Bluetooth headphones (and your car)
- integration with last.fm (via scrobbler)
- pauses during phone calls and navigation speech

I've been using the free version for years and just decided to buy the pro version to support the developer, the free version is awesome too. The app is for people who prefer to stay in control of how your audio files are organized (in folders). It's very convenient, lots of features, and now it even supports android auto. Highly recommend! Edit: The behavior in Android Auto is not ideal. Every time you live the app, switch to a different audio app and then come back to Folder Player, it completely forgets which folder it was in and what it was playing. It would be nice to fix it so that like many other apps, it resumes from where you left off.

Misbehaving! Have used for years, but latest update has destroyed it. Runs in the background, runs battery down, and makes phone get hot. Attempts to optimize in phone settings makes app stop and lose memory of memory card music folders. If you listen to anything like a marathon, this app will now only frustrate you. Can't start every morning and continue where I left off because the app forgets and has to be setup again. Will have to use something else.

The idea is terrific, but its Android Auto implementation is terrible. I usually encounter: - It's playing music on the phone but Auto says the app seems not working - Start playing music for 5 seconds and stops - Play a music until the end, stop, and playlist is gone(folder is forgotten) ...... and a few more. I know that this app is firm and old, and I still love the idea so I bought the Pro app to support the development, but Android Auto needs quite a fixation
