About this app

This morse code learning app has two main modes:

- Learn mode. Where user can learn morse code step by step, using incremental learning of the individual sounds (rather than a look up table of character to code). So for a complete novice, this would start with 1 character, then 2, and so on, but only as users demonstrates that the 'know' the code already introduced. This learning should be built up over a number of sessions, and the current settings are saved so that learning can continue where you left off.
Note: Default character introduction sequence is 'Cunningham', but 'Koch' can easily be selected via the menu (your choice)

- Listen mode. Once the code has been learned, it's fun to practice reading. So the app has some built in text files, as well a random text generator, and sample QSO generator.

Help text explaining operation and each control is accessible via the menu function.

Only English text available in this version.

Please see web site for learning method background and user documentation.

Please note that this app is based upon the concepts contained in the PC based "Teach' software, written by Gary E.J. Bold. ZL1AN. Without his help this app would not exist... Many thanks Gary (RIP)

I've found this app very good for learning morse code. When I have 5 minutes spare, I sit down and practice listening for a bit. Occasionally when you press a letter on the keyboard for the one you have heard, it doesn't light up, but you get used to it quickly. I'd like it if the listen mode had an option where it could just play lines and lines of text, mine seems to play them in random order. To listen to a practice QSO I have to put the whole conversation on one line. However, having said that, I really like that app ad will continue using it. Thanks.

Many thanks for the feedback Andrew. Have you tried the 'Gen QSOs' option, which generates random QSO text. Please see V6.0

Absolutely brilliant. I'd given up trying to use phone (S8) for re-learning CW (30 yrs off) as the keyboard on othe apps was impossible. This app is a life-saver (not literally obvs.) I've been using LCWO site but kept hitting walls and giving up. This Fansworth method suits me better than Koch but the combination of both is brilliant. AND... for when driving, decoding the pre-programmed QSO's is genius... though I found out it's not just code to learn but abreviations too! You Sir are a legend!

superb. I was looking for a replacement for the excellent Driftwood morse tutor (Windows phone) and this is as good, if not better. I got my can ticket many years ago, and like others, I went straight to hf phone. It's perfect to have a trainer in my pocket which can be used whenever I'm waiting for, or on a bus. My speed is coming up nicely. On my samsung galaxy a3 the keypresses are a little slow to be acknowledged but that's the pickiest thing I can find in an otherwise brilliant product.

Many thanks, yes the keypad is annoying, with the reaction to input varying from device to device... I have tried to fix this in the past, but with no success (so far).
