We will teach you in a slow pace. One level for every grammar aspect. Read a theoretical lesson and practise what you learnt in 4 different exercises: Theory reinforcement, Vocabulary I, Vocabulary II and Translation. Every exercise is natively voiced with more than 1500 recordings. 🔊

Ratings and reviews

This app is pretty good thus far. However, it seems to always freeze within the first section, and I keep having to restart the app over and over. It freezes on a new random word each time. Edit: Updated to five stars. I figured out the bug. When you click on your score after going through the pronunciations, the first time through it will show "0" because your score is zero, however, if you click that, you'll hear some Icelandic being spoken that has nothing to do with what's on the screen.

The app has potential but needs a lot of work before being worth the price. -When first learning in each session, there should be audio available for the words/sounds taught. -The exercises that follow are exactly the same several times over. Variation in vocab is needed. -The entire typing section needs redone. If you don't know a word/spelling you're reduced to random guessing -- not good. The glossary at the very least should be accessible. And the letters imo should be replaced w/ keyboard.

I would give this 4.5 if I could. This app is really nice in that it teaches you both vocabulary and grammar, unlike some other apps. Instructions are also in english, unlike IcelandicOnline. My complaint is that the questions in phases 1 & 2 of the section quizzes are in the same order. This makes it really easy to pass phase 2 based on memory of the answers to phase 1. I'm suggesting that these be randomized. All in all, one of the best apps for learning Icelandic. Ég tala smá Íslensku.
