The app doesn't seem particularly developed.. I haven't been able to add new "shelves" to sort my books, and there are extremely few additional options when reading (a search function would be really nice in particular). If it were a free library (run by ads?), then I would give it 5 stars. but with people paying (I understand it's not that expensive)- I expected better functions. All-in-all I am quite greatful for it though. It remains a great resource for short term study.

I paid for service for nearly a year until I gave up because the app is so insanely frustrating. It crashes constantly. It frequently does not save one's place in the book. It doesn't really work offline. And the funny thing is that they haven't fixed anything even though after reading these reviews, clearly, many issues exist that have not been resolved since it launched. It's too bad because they have such a wonderful selection of books that you'll never read because of the app.

I'm really impressed. A Perlego subscription offers a huge selection of the best academic textbooks around, including those that run $150+. I'm now able to read those books that were priced out of my reach. Easy on the eyes, you can select background paper color, font, font size. You can highlight, annotate, export references when citing, sync all this on the PC. They really have thought of what an academic needs. It is to academic books what Mendeley for PC is to Journal articles.
