The LAist App: 
The LAist App allows you to listen to LAist, pause and rewind the live audio, and view the program schedule for LAist. You can listen to LAist and NPR Podcasts whenever you want, and send messages to the station.
 
Live Streaming

Ratings and reviews

The newest version is just so-so. It has some features that work and fixes a long-standing bug, but certain podcasts that used to work now appear to have no content and are unplayable. The ads are irritating but understandable -- donations probably aren't keeping up, so you need more revenue. Fine. Edit: several weeks later and still certain shows appear, but have no playable content on the platform. 😕

When listening to On-Demand, the recording stops every few minutes. I hit play again & the recording is stepped back a minute. I have to jump forward to the spot it stopped. Then in a few minutes or less it happens again. This goes on until the recording is complete. I have deinstalled the app & reinstalled twice. Nothing changes. This has happened in various locations, so it's not that I'm in a bad signal location. This is a fairly new occurrence beginning July 25th.

I love KPCC, but the app has its problems. It pauses itself all the time, forcing you to hit the play button to get it going again. It pauses randomly on its own as well as every time I lock the phone. Edit (since the app has gotten worse, not better): The app still pauses whenever the phone locks, which is extremely frustrating. Currently, the app won't work at all, claiming it has no internet connection, despite the phone having both strong wifi and 4G connection.
