The Speechling Method

Personal Feedback

As a personal tutoring service, our certified pronunciation coaches give feedback on your speaking within 24 hours. Advanced students can answer a question or describe an image, and we will give feedback similar to what a private tutor will provide.

Unlike other for-profit companies, our coaching is also free - but because it has significant overhead costs, we charge just enough to cover our costs and for those who demonstrate that they cannot afford that price, we provide full scholarships.

Ratings and reviews

Great app, but I found two errors on the first day. Also, I find it impossible to use the app to test whether I've mastered a given phrase because of ambiguity. For example, "Can you ..." could be 你可以。。。 or 你能。。。 Am I supposed to memorize for each phrase what is being expected as the Mandarin equivalent? Kind of impossible for hundreds of phrases since there are multiple ways to say the same thing. However, it's very much worth the price for the coach feedback on pronunciation.

Awesome app. As a lower intermediate learner of español, it's become more useful for me now than as a beginner, since I now understand syntax of the language better. If only there was a way to bookmark phrases I want to repeatedly work on. Maybe it's an option in the paid version, pero no estoy segura. But I think the monthly price is too high. Well, the price isn't high considering you get unlimited coaching, but I don't need the coaching since I have native speakers to help me.

Can't believe this is free. Probably the best language app for self study ever made. I see a lot of people saying it's only for pronunciation, but that's nonsense. You'll learn an enormous amount of content in your target language. This app helps you learn the right way, by listening, comprehending, and speaking. Just like real language usage. When you converse with someone, you're not doing multiple choice quizzes and fill in the blank exercises.
