Some of our classics are now mechatronic.
With our alarm locks, in addition to the high level of mechanical security, we rely on an alarm of up to 100 dB, which has already proven itself in motorcycle security.
The lock turns your smartphone into a digital key using the app. Smartphone and lock can interact in this way.
Comfortable opening and closing of the lock without having to take your smartphone in your hand. The lock communicates with your smartphone thanks to the secure Bluetooth connection. As soon as you get into the 2m radius of the lock, the lock can be unlocked.
Another convenient function is access authorization. Access authorizations can be sent to other people via message. These can be managed in the app. Access can be granted permanently or limited in time. Up to 8 additional people can be trained via the app. The management of multiple locks via the app is ideal for groups and families. It is also possible to operate several locks with one cell phone.
In addition to German, the app has four other languages ​​- English, French, Spanish and Italian.

I dont know if it's the app or the lock itself, either way I just got my lock and have sat here trying to get it to connect over and over and it has only been successful once. I then tried closing the app and turning bluetooth off then back on, then it wouldn't connect again. I am terrified to put this lock on my bike, because I fear that it wont come off. A bluetooth lock seems nice on paper until you realize how inconsistent it can be.

In short: buggy and unreliable. The Smart lock fails to open and find connection so many times. Needs to unlock phone, play with Bluetooth on/off several times to connect. Tried different phones. The lock itself was not waterproof for the electronic parts (seriously, for a bike lock ?!) Otherwise good idea if it had worked.

Really good when it works. Works wonderfully for the first few months but starts seizing up and can have difficulty getting it off the bike sometimes. Frustrating when you need to get somewhere. Also bluetooth connectivity is intermittent again causing delays in applying or removing the lock. This is my 2nd one. The first seized off the bike and was was returned. Nice concept but not Abus quality and customer service isn't great. Would not buy again
