Modi has been developed for young people aged 13-16 who are anxious or have concerns in various situations. The mastery course consists of 6 interactive chapters that you must complete during a 6-week period. We recommend that you spend less time on the first chapters and spend more time on the last chapters dealing with exposure.
Modi aims to contribute to anxiety management, based on principles from cognitive behavioral therapy. In Modi you will get information about the difference between fear and anxiety and the connection between thoughts, feelings and actions. You will also receive information about what contributes to maintaining the anxiety or worries you experience in various situations.
Exercises are planned where you will learn new ways to relate to your thoughts and expose yourself to anxiety-related discomfort in situations you like to avoid. You will learn about tips on how to deal with anxiety and worries.
With Modi, we hope to offer an alternative to treatment that requires an appointment with a psychologist so that the treatment can take place more flexibly and when it suits you. You will be able to send a message to a therapist in the app along the way.
To get the most out of the app, you will be asked to answer questions along the way and to enter your own exercises. The data collected through your activity in the app will be kept safe and used to improve your experience. You choose whether you want to share the information you enter in the app with your parents/guardians.
During the research period, we also want you to answer some questionnaires, so that we can assess whether the app is perceived as useful. These questionnaires will appear every two weeks and you will receive a notification each time. As a thank you for completing these questionnaires, you will receive a gift card of NOK 200 immediately after the course and NOK 200 when you have answered the questionnaire 3 months after the course.
