About this app

In order to support everyone in understanding and preserving their hearing health, the Fondation Pour l’Audition has developed Höra, a mobile application for identifying hearing problems.

Based on a benchmark hearing test developed by audiology experts, called the “3-digit test”*, Höra allows you to accurately assess your hearing and identify whether or not you have hearing loss.

Recently, we added a new feature, a sound level meter. Thanks to your smartphone, you can now know the intensity of the noise around you and move away from it if it exceeds 80 decibels (dB), the danger threshold for your hearing. So, listen carefully and don't exceed 80!

Thanks to Höra, you can:

- Test your hearing in just 3 minutes
- Measure the sound level around you using a sound level meter
- Monitor the evolution of your hearing throughout your life
- Learn more about your hearing thanks to numerous preventive tips and tricks
- Create an account and use the application for an unlimited number of users
- Share your results with those around you
- Schedule a reminder for your next test

How it works ?

- Connect headphones or earphones (for optimal evaluation)
- Measure your sound environment: it must be below 55 decibels to launch a test
- Adjust the volume for comfortable listening
- Listen to the different series of 3 numbers and transcribe them on the screen
- Find out your result and view your test history

Want to know more about your hearing health? Download Höra and take the test!

*This test was the subject of a scientific publication, available below: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7015780/

Höra is also cited as an application with excellent performance by the Ministry of Health and Prevention: https://sante.gouv.fr/prevention-en-sante/preserver-sa-sante/article/reperage-et- management-of-presbycusis

Before making a medical decision, consider consulting a healthcare professional.

☝ Also a good reminder of the importance of following the hearing care pathway (Höra > general practitioner > ENT doctor > hearing aid specialist) and of getting fitted when necessary.

- About Us -

Created in 2010 in the form of a prefiguration association by three ENT surgeons under the leadership of Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, Jean-Pierre Meyers and the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, the Fondation Pour l'Audition has been recognized as being of public utility since 2015 and works daily to advance the cause of hearing health.

This heritage imbues the brand with a culture of concrete and positive field action. An action which aims to support scientific and medical research, raise awareness, break the taboo and change the way we view the deaf, the hard of hearing and their loved ones.

The Hearing Foundation wishes to create synergies by bringing together talents to advance hearing health and help deaf people, the hard of hearing and their loved ones live better everyday lives.

The foundation's mission is threefold: supporting research and innovation, improving the daily lives of deaf and hard of hearing people and their loved ones, but also mobilizing public opinion through prevention and awareness to protect everyone's hearing capital.
