Cancer of the colon and / or rectum is also called colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men (such as skin cancer, prostate and lung) and women (such as skin cancer, lung and breast).
No one knows exactly what causes colorectal cancer, however, research has shown that people with certain risk factors are more likely to develop colorectal cancer than others.

The Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC), in partnership with the Association of Blind and Partially Sighted of Portugal (ACAPO) and the Portuguese Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SPED) developed this application on Cancer Colorectal.
This presentation provides information on colorectal cancer in a simple and accessible way, focusing on aspects concerning the epidemiology, prevention, treatment and support to the patient with colorectal cancer.
The free availability of information media in different formats, and produced in order to ensure accessibility to access information allows the LPCC to continue the pursuit of its mission with regard to Education for Health.
This tool was built taking into account accessibility criteria for that application will be used by the entire population.
