Bring everyday TV controls to your phone. TV Remote connects over Wi-Fi to compatible televisions using Android TV Remote Service v2, giving you a directional pad, volume buttons, playback controls, and a phone keyboard in one place. It is designed for navigating your TV and entering text while watching at home.

CONNECT AND KEEP YOUR TV HANDY
Put your phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi network, tap Connect, and scan for nearby compatible devices. Choose a TV and enter the six-character pairing code shown on its screen when requested. The connection panel shows whether the app is connecting, paired, offline, or needs another attempt, with a Retry connection action when needed.

Previously paired TVs are saved so you can select them again. Give saved devices recognizable names, remove old entries, and choose a preferred TV or use the last connected one. Automatic reconnection can be enabled or turned off in Settings. Use Change to select another television when moving between rooms.

NAVIGATE, LISTEN, AND WATCH
Use Up, Down, Left, Right, and OK to move through TV menus. Back, Home, and Menu sit alongside the directional controls. Adjust volume or toggle mute; when your TV reports volume information, the app displays its level and mute state.

Play or pause, skip to the previous or next item, rewind, and fast-forward in supported TV apps. More controls includes separate Play and Pause buttons, Stop, number keys, channel controls, guide, captions, TV settings, input-related shortcuts, and recent apps. Each command depends on what your TV and the current app accept.

TYPE WITH YOUR PHONE
Open Keyboard, enable keyboard mode, and select a search or text field on the TV. Begin with an empty field, type on your phone, then tap Send text. Search and Delete controls are available. After the initial send, you can enable Live typing to update the text managed by this panel. Keep the same TV field open and check the screen to confirm your text appears; some TV apps may ignore edits.

MAKE FREQUENT ACTIONS EASIER TO REACH
Choose favorite controls in Settings to place useful shortcuts on the main remote. Enable Hold to repeat buttons to keep moving through menus or adjusting volume while you press an arrow or volume button. Optional vibration feedback follows your Android device's touch-feedback settings.

For an installed TV app list and custom app favorites, install the separate TV Remote Companion on your TV and pair it using the code it displays. App launching also requires enabling the companion's accessibility service on the TV. The TV app launcher and built-in shortcuts can be used without this optional companion, where supported.

KNOW WHAT YOUR TV REPORTS
TV details shows available model, manufacturer, IP address, remote service version, current app, power, and volume information. Reported capabilities help explain which controls are supported; missing information is shown as unknown or unavailable.

Compatibility matters: this is a Wi-Fi remote for supported TVs, not a universal controller. Waking from standby requires the TV to retain network access and mains power. Voice input is not provided. Keep both devices on a reachable local network and use the connection guidance if discovery fails.
