StateQuant is a market regime classifier. After each trading session it sorts nine major tickers into plain states: Trending Up, Trending Down, or Choppy, with volatility Expanding or Compressed. It reports the state of the market. It does not predict prices, and it does not tell you what to buy.
It is free, in full. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads, no locked tiers.
THE CLASSIFIER
Every ticker is classified on two timeframes, daily and weekly:
• Trend — Trending Up, Trending Down, or Choppy
• Volatility — Expanding or Compressed
• Persistence — “Day N” counts the trading days the current regime has held
• Agreement — D≡W when the daily and weekly states align, D≠W when they diverge
StateQuant is a technical classifier: it reads price and volume, not headlines, and it applies the same rules every day.
THE SIGNAL SCORE
Each ticker carries a Signal Score from 0 to 8 — a weighted sum of four visible conditions: a fresh trend flip (+3), volume confirmation (+2), daily–weekly alignment (+2), and a directional, non-choppy trend (+1). A high score means more conditions currently line up. It is a score of present conditions, not a count of eight separate signals, and not a price forecast.
FLIP ALERTS, OFF BY DEFAULT
A flip is the day a ticker’s daily regime changes — from Choppy to Trending Up, say. Flips from the last three trading days are highlighted. Push notifications are opt-in and off by default: turn them on and you get one alert per flip, on the daily timeframe only. One notification when a state changes.
THE NINE TICKERS
SPY (S&P 500), QQQ (Nasdaq-100), IWM (Russell 2000), AAPL (Apple), NVDA (Nvidia), MSFT (Microsoft), XOM (Exxon Mobil), MCD (McDonald’s), and GLD (gold). A fixed, deliberate set: broad market, tech, small caps, energy, consumer, and gold. StateQuant tracks these nine and nothing else. It is a market-state instrument, not a watchlist.
OVERNIGHT, BY DESIGN
States update overnight, after each session closes. The weekly reading settles after Friday’s close and changes once a week, not once a day. StateQuant is not a real-time ticker and does not pretend to be one.
WHAT IT LEAVES OUT
No price targets. No buy or sell recommendations. No forecasts. No performance promises. No ads. StateQuant tells you the state of the trend and of volatility, on daily and weekly timeframes, and stops there.
WHO IT IS FOR
Traders and investors who want a calm, disciplined read on stock market conditions before making their own decisions. If you want hot picks, this is the wrong app. If you want to know the current state of SPY, QQQ, or the market’s biggest names — and an alert when that state flips — this is the right one.
StateQuant is an informational and educational tool. It is not investment advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Regime classifications describe recent market behavior; they do not predict future prices.
