Shadow Native Japanese. Speak With Confidence.
Fluency Tool is a structured Japanese speaking and study system built around Echo Fluency: a hands-free shadowing engine that listens to a native Japanese sentence, opens the microphone automatically, evaluates your pronunciation using speech analysis, and re-queues sentences you get wrong until you get them right. You stop just listening to Japanese. You start producing it.
Four Tools. One Fluency Loop. Continuous Japanese Renshuu.
Most Japanese apps isolate one skill and leave you to figure out the rest. Fluency Tool builds four skills in parallel:
• Echo Fluency Shadowing Engine — listen, repeat, get graded, advance. Hands-free.
• SM-2 Flashcard System — Anki-compatible spaced repetition for JLPT vocabulary.
• JLPT Grammar Guide N5–N1 — every grammar pattern with native audio and SRS tracking.
• Vocabulary Games — Fever Pitch, Hangman, Matching, and Crossword built from your own decks.
How Echo Fluency Works
A JLPT-level sentence appears with furigana. Native audio plays. The microphone opens automatically — just repeat what you heard. Your voice plays back immediately so you hear the gap between your output and the native model. Speech-to-text grades your attempt: correct moves you to the next sentence, incorrect re-queues it. Sentences you struggle with return more often. Sentences you master extend their review interval by 4x. The app tracks your personal best for consecutive correct answers per session.
Content covers JLPT N5 through N1 across 25 sub-levels. Three recording modes: Echo Fluency (auto), Timed, or Hold to Record. Pitch accent visualizer for pronunciation correction.
SM-2 Flashcards — Anki-Compatible
Rate cards Again, Hard, Medium, or Easy. The SM-2 algorithm calculates exactly when you need to see each word again. Long-press any kanji for a full on'yomi, kun'yomi, and meaning breakdown from KanjiAPI. JLPT preset decks for N5–N1 load on first launch. Create custom decks with word, reading, definition, and example. Firebase cloud sync keeps your decks safe across devices — no account needed.
JLPT Grammar Guide N5–N1
Every JLPT grammar pattern from N5 through N1 in one reference, with native audio on every example sentence. Tap any pattern for an interactive quiz. Your status tracks as Learning, Reviewing, or Mastered — so you always know what still needs work and what you own.
Vocabulary Games Built From Your Decks
Fever Pitch speed-tap game, Hangman kanji challenge, vocabulary matching, and Japanese crossword puzzles all pull from your personal flashcard decks. The words you are actively studying get reinforced in a completely different mode.
Dashboard: Know Exactly What to Do Next
Daily goal tracker with progress bar. 7 and 30-day activity chart. JLPT roadmap showing remaining sentences across all 25 sub-levels with your current position highlighted. Daily streak tracking. Dark mode. Configurable JLPT level, TTS voice, recording mode, and study goal.

Intermediate learners (N4–N2) who can read Japanese but still hesitate to speak. One week of Echo Fluency sessions noticeably changes that.
JLPT candidates who need a speaking practice system and a grammar reference in the same app, organized by the same level structure as the exam.
Serious learners who know what spaced repetition is, know what shadowing is, and are finished with apps that gamify without producing real speaking ability.
