Hen Lineage Lab is a fully offline breeding-records journal built for chicken breeders who want a clear, factual picture of their flock across generations — no cloud, no account, no subscription.

Every piece of data you enter stays on your device. Nothing is ever synced or shared with any server.


BIRDS

Add individual birds with name, breed, sex, life status, breeding status, hatch date, and generation. Attach a photo from your gallery. Mark any bird as a Foundation bird — the starting point of a line. Log selection history with notes when a bird's breeding role changes.


LINEAGE

Assign parents to any bird and let the app prevent impossible family loops automatically. View your flock as a pannable, zoomable lineage tree — tap any node to open that bird's profile. Switch between Ancestors, Descendants, Family, and Generation Board views to explore your lines from any angle.


BREEDING

Create breeding connections as pairs (one rooster + one hen) or groups (one rooster + multiple hens). Log hatch events with eggs set and chicks hatched. Record individual offspring directly from a hatch using the fast-add flow — fill the basics and tap Save & Add Another to keep going without breaking your rhythm. Group hatches record the father; individual mother stays unknown rather than being guessed.


TRAITS

Define your own trait types: numeric measurements, 1–5 ratings, yes/no flags, category lists, or free-text notes. Every observation is saved as a timestamped entry — history is never overwritten. Browse factual summaries: how many unique birds were observed, total observation count, latest value per bird, numeric mean/min/max, distributions by generation and line. No genetic predictions. No "dominant gene" language. Just the records you entered.


COMPARE AND EXPORT

Compare 2–4 birds side by side on traits and lineage stats. Compare offspring from the same hatch. Export everything as CSV — birds, trait observations, breeding connections, hatches — or generate a plain-text lineage summary, then share via any app on your device.


PRIVACY

• 100% offline — works with no internet connection.
• No account, no login, no sign-up.
• No access to location, contacts, microphone, or camera.
• Gallery access is requested only when you explicitly tap Add Photo inside a bird record.
• All data lives in a local database on your device.

Hen Lineage Lab is a record-keeping tool for manually entered breeding, lineage and trait observations. Summaries describe the records entered by the user and do not provide genetic predictions, breeding recommendations, veterinary advice, or guarantees about inherited traits.
