Thirteen is a fast climbing card game for four: you against three computer players. Everyone gets 13 cards. Beat the last play with a higher one of the same shape, or pass, and be the first to play every card in your hand. Also known as Tien Len, the classic card game from Vietnam.
HOW IT PLAYS
• Whoever holds the 3 of spades leads the first round.
• Play a single, a pair, a triple, four of a kind, a run of three or more, or a double run of pairs in a row.
• The next player must beat it with the same type and size, or pass. Pass and you sit out until the round clears.
• When everyone passes, the last player leads anything they like.
• 3 is the lowest card and 2 is the highest. Suits break ties: spades, clubs, diamonds, hearts.
CHOP THE 2s
A 2 looks unbeatable, but it is not. Four of a kind or a double run of three pairs chops a single 2. Four of a kind or a double run of four pairs chops a pair of 2s. Save your bombs for the right moment.
FAST, ONE-HAND PLAY
• On your turn a good play is already picked for you. It is only a suggestion.
• Tap a card to pick it, tap again to grow it into a pair, a run or a bomb.
• Double-tap the middle of the table to throw your cards.
• Your hand sorts itself into runs and pairs so you can see your options at a glance.
• Turn the suggestions off if you want to find every play yourself.
REAL OPPONENTS
The computer players pick their plays with a real strategy, and they talk: you hear them pass and wave you on when the round is yours. Choose easy, medium or hard. Hard players hold back their big cards to stop you going out.
Every play of the game piles up on the table, so you can see how the hand unfolded. Stats track your games and wins at each difficulty.
No ads and nothing to buy. A quick, lively card game for anyone who loves shedding games, climbing games and beating a 2 with a bomb.
Beat each play with a higher one, chop the 2s and be first to empty your hand.
