Important Note: Due to technical limitations, existing Now Playing history from the built-in Pixel feature cannot be imported. Now Playing History will begin tracking songs from the moment of installation.

Permissions Explained:

- Notification Access: Required to detect playing songs. Only artist and song titles are used to download album art.
- Location (Optional): Used only for displaying locations of detected songs within the app. Data is stored locally and can be deleted at any time.
- Files & Media (Android 11 only): Required for manual backup and restore functionality.

the app works great. however. it came with my pixel, that I bought over 2 years ago. all of the sudden, when I open it up, all my favorites are gone, as well as all my history. come to find out, they now charge $1.99. so for a measley 2 bucks, and no notification, they just stopped my app from working, that came with my device. sleazy.

I know there's a warning about battery usage when installing the app, but it caused my phone to last one day on a charge where it was previously lasting two. Additionally, the API that is used for the Album art in this app is terrible, it only gets the original album artwork about 1 in 5 times, usually it will pull up a compilation or best of or remix art instead. Would avoid until further improvements are made.

Much to my chagrin, I discovered when I moved to a new phone that I could not transfer my now playing history. Wishing to stave off this issue in the future, I went searching for solutions. I found this app, which in my opinion, is a lesson in simplistic elegance. It is exactly what you need of you want more features from 'now playing' and you want to save and export this data. Very much worth the $1.99. Bravo sir.
