Sophisticated program that is both a database organizer and a fun recipe organizer that an enthusiast would appreciate. The visual screens are easy to navigate but the real bonus is how recipes can be imported from the web or through scanning into the program. If you join the Cook'n club you also get access to monthly and weekly newsletter and recipes. The support staff is very responsive. The sort features are better than any I've seen in any other program. Added in Aug. '21 -- you really get help from the staff when you need it. This month I needed it.

The concept is great, follow through sucks. The system is time consuming and annoying to use, no ability to check multiple recipes at once (to delete more than one at a time), and I 1,000% do not need or want the recipe amounts in the directions text. The amounts are in the ingredients. But, if a recipe calls for 3 cups of water in the ingredients, anywhere the directions call for water, cook'n auto-adds the amount in parentheses. That is actually confusing as all heck, not helpful at all.

The feature you are referring to is called Smart Directions (see https://youtu.be/UcECeT6xFlA?t=233). Simply tap the Sync button on the toolbar to turn it off. To select multiple recipes at once, use the Cook'n Desktop App. Gmail is the same way. You can select multiple messages when you use Gmail on your computer but not on your mobile device.

Cook'n is a great way to collect and organize your recipes. They have thought of everything to do with that. However, the meal planning feature needs a lot of work. You can only make and access menu plans from the desktop version. The menu needs to be printed when you are ready to cook, although I have found a work around. Look forward to see what they come up with.

Thank you so much for your valuable feedback Tonya. You are correct. There is definitely room for improvement when it comes to the menu planning features in the Cook'n Mobile Apps. The good news is that we are constantly improving Cook'n and adding new features all the time. We look forward to enhancing this aspect of Cook'n Mobile.
