About this app

A reflected light meter with spot metering (using the device's camera) and an incident light meter (using the device's light sensor) in one app. Tested accurate against Gossen and Sekonic meters on most devices.

Can be used for any type of camera from film SLR to pinhole to cinematographic.

In addition to the two meters, the app includes a Color Temperature (White Balance) meter, a Reciprocity Calculator, an Exposure Convert, a Manual (Sunny Sixteen) calculator, a Depth of Field calculator, and an EXIF Reader.

I really like this app and have been using it for years. (I use the white balance tool almost daily). Is it possible to meter for the aperture? This would be highly useful for the video world where the shutter speed/angle is constant, but the aperture can be adjusted. edit: I can't believe I didn't notice that before, thank you!

Hello! Long press on the aperture value and it'll start measuring for that instead.

Great free app. Worth the $6 of the paid version even without the extra features. I like that you can do metering a couple different ways, and I've found it pretty close to accurate, enough I don't worry about it if I use the app instead of my proper meters. I can also set it to third stop, half, or whole to match whatever camera I am carrying. Never used it for flash metering, so no idea how the Max mode works, but for both ambient and reflective in one app it's a good tool.

Under sensor preferences you set the app to read max value which turns it into a flash meter. A quick test revealed the app has good accuracy. The app also has an adjustment so you can calibrate it which I intend to do later. My phone has to be in legacy mode which slows spot metering. Also the app is locked on aperture priority (set aperture and iso and the app tells you shutter speed). The app is very good but the app could use shutter and iso priority. I lost my professional light meter to a flood but intend to replace it with this app.
