About this game

“Learn ABC & Letters” is an interactive learning game about the German alphabet with beautiful pictures. “Learning ABC & Letters” was developed together with speech therapists and German teachers and tested by children.

- “Learn ABC & Letters” is suitable for children aged 4-7.
- The app contains 9 educational games.

- The words and letters were spoken by a German speech therapist with standard German pronunciation.
- The pronunciation of the letters is based on the requirements of the 1st grade.
- In collaboration with the speech therapist, only words that are suitable for the youngest learners were selected for the app. The game does not contain any words with complicated letter combinations at the beginning that are not suitable for children to learn.
- The letter combinations EU, EI, AU (duck - yes, owl - no) do not appear, only words/syllables without consonant connections (camel - yes, crane - no, dad - yes, horse - no). The app only uses the consonant connections SCH (SCHAF, SCARF ..) at the beginning of the word.
There is only one way to pronounce each letter (bird – yes, vase – no).
- The app contains 288 images/words.
- The app contains learning games for all letters of the German alphabet: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z Ä Ö Ü.
- There are only a few pictures for the letters Ä, Ö, Ü, X, Q, which is why these letters are not used very often in the game. The letters C,Y,ß were excluded from the game.

We have corrected the pronunciation of the letters today as you suggested, i.e. “kh” instead of “ka”. We hope that this will make the letters easier for preschool and first grade children to learn.

Application description:
Game 1: THE ABC
Simple alphabet list to help children learn the letter names and what the letters look like.

Game 2: CAPITAL LETTERS
The children learn the capital letters in connection with a word. e.g. A for EVENING, O for EAR.
The letters appear randomly. The game contains a total of 280 beautiful illustrations, with 10 pictures for each word.

Game 3: LOWERCASE
The game is the same as game #2, only it contains small letters.

Game 4: FIND THE MAP
The goal is to point to the picture that begins with the letter shown.

Game 5: WORD FORMATION
In this game, children turn over the fields and gradually reveal the word painted on the picture. The picture is hidden (behind the curtain) and with each new letter it is revealed a little.

Game 6: LETTERS IN THE WORD
You have to find the letters in the word. For example, you see the word “COOK” and the children have to find the letter O in it.

Game 7: Memory
There are 20 cards on the area. It's about the game version of the game Memory - you have to put a letter together with the corresponding picture (A + EVENING, H + DOG, etc.).
