About this app

The app for Android is different from anything else you've seen in weather forecasting: Scroll through a beautiful and animated sky to see how the weather changes hourly, and get all the need-to-know details at the same time. And if there will be rainfall within the next 90 minutes we'll let you know through our now-cast.

The weather visualization makes it a fun experience to check the weather – even when it's raining!

Check details day by day and hour by hour in the long-term forecast, or study the details in the graph.

Under "Around you" you get an overview of UV levels, air pollution and pollen spread, as well as the latest weather observations and webcams in your area. Locations outside Norway may have limited content if there is no available data.

Wear OS is a streamlined version of the app, and contains only the most important features from the weather service. Search for locations around the world and get a weather forecast for the coming days.

Forecasts are delivered by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

On launch it says "Finding your location..." and never finds it. I can type a location by hand, but that takes extra taps every time I launch it. I turned off "Location based forecast". No good. I set default start page to "location list". It ignores it. I'm still giving four stars since it's otherwise a nice app, and I like that it doesn't sell data. Could you add a version of the widget with a five day forecast on one line, showing low and high temperature for each day?

Nice basic weather app that, unlike other popular ones, doesn't sell users' location data. You don't even have to allow location data if you type in your city and save it. And no ads! The only other things I wish it has were radar and humidity. But on the occasion that I really care about those things, I can check mobile.weather.gov for more detailed info.

I appreciate that the government weather service has made this app for free, without ads, and has made it useful around the world. Despite enabling background location permission and allowing precise location, and restarting the app, there is no widget visible anywhere on my Pixel 3a (which was updated last week). That is literally all I want out of a weather app - for it show the current temp on the lock screen and in the task bar next to the clock. Table is too detailed with 4 temps for each day, hard to scroll through the week and make sense of it. Need option for just one or two lines per day with high/low temp, forecast precip, and wind speed/direction. Easier to grok the whole week that way. Graph is okay but only shows next 48 hours. My Locations keeps adding an additional one nearby and I keep deleting it, I don't want to see it. When I edit locations list, there is a hamburger menu icon for each location that does nothing when tapped. I figured out once how to just add a location by city, but now I can't find that option. All in all, a frustrating user experience.
