About this game

You are a struggling writer who has resolved to write just one more novel before giving up the dream. Your quest has brought you to the town of ASHCROFT, a mysterious place with an important and ancient history. Your objective is to gather as much information as you can.

First you will need to meet up with the local historian, who holds the key to uncovering more information. But you should be warned, for venturing too deep may yield disastrous consequences. Your own sanity is at stake...

I do like this alot. I like the lore and the tone and the themes. Good story telling. Interesting characters. The only qualm is that you are forced to go to the clock tower when there are still other things to do. I wanted to exhaust all of searching before facing the end boss. Then there are very few options to choose when facing the boss. I know it can be replayed to see what was missed, but it feels rushed when you have no choice but to end the game when there are places you have not gone yet

Writing is good as can be expected from karmic shift. Interesting story. The turn limit is annoying, but the upgrade is very cheap. Good overall, but does not compare to the older karmic shift games that gave you a lot more control. I hope there are more like the old style to come, those are worth paying for.

Great artwork, characters and setting! Do still wish the different storyline options could be a bit more varied (e.g. Whichever option you choose, the story still plays out roughly the same way, you interact with the same characters in a similar order, etc). Would love it in future versions if the different options led the story in different directions!
