About this game

As the mage of an adventuring party, you're tasked with tracking down and capturing a violent demon under any circumstances. This already daunting task is made even more difficult when you've got competition from a hostile, rival party of adventurers.

What's more, you soon discover that your target wants to take you as her human vessel. Can you survive a demon who has her eye on you, and a party that will do anything it takes to win?

"The Mage's Adventures" is a thrilling 167,000 word interactive fantasy novel by Samwise Harry Young, where your choices control the story. The tale is a companion novel to "The Magician's Burden", set in an alternate timeline. It's text-based, with vivid illustrations, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Oh, and there's a secret member of your party as well: the demon living in your head.

• Play as male, female, or nonbinary; romance whoever you want.
• Romance the cold, aloof Violet; the competitive, outgoing Mabelin; the shy, sweet Rigel; or the fun-loving, charismatic Keano.
• Wield fantastical spells: turn invisible, throw fireballs, heal wounds, and more.
• Make a deal with your demon and use his powerful magic at a steep price, or resist the temptation altogether.
• Build bridges with your bitter rival, or exact your revenge upon him instead.

Hosted Games not Interactive Books, if you give the player no customization in terms of their own embodiment of self in the story, how can you get invested enough to make it past the linear railroading, as well as blatantly forced character progression, it's as if someone tried to turn their personal novel into an interactive game, and failed at the first step. AKA The player.

Very witty and well written. It was pretty short, unfortunately. The action sequences were fun, but there was so much monotony between plot points that it felt a bit boring at times. The best part of this story was the ending, but the twist hits you so hard and fast and then it's over. It feels more like a slap in the face than a cliff hanger and left me feeling unsatisfied rather than excited for a sequel. Tdlr: A fun, witty adventure, but leaves you hanging on the climax.

The Prologue starts of with a very interesting concept, and well crafted writing to create a vivid imagination. The story itself afterwards feels more like a filler epsiode; non of the ROs are very intriguing or possess a really attractive personality, if I had to choose I would say Mabelin was prbs the least generic. The story isn't bad, the writing just plays it too safe like ' StarWars The Last Skywalker. ' Overall it was more of a time pass than anything else.
