About this game

Grim Tides tries to blend tabletop RPG vibes, familiar dungeon crawling and roguelike mechanics, and a classic turn-based combat system into an accessible and entertaining package. Because of its attention to written storytelling, detailed worldbuilding and abundance of lore, Grim Tides can be similar to a solo Dungeons and Dragons campaign, or even a choose your own adventure book.

Grim Tides is a single player game and can be played offline. It has no lootboxes, energy bars, overpriced cosmetics, content locked behind endless microtransactions, or other modern monetization schemes. Just a few unobtrusive and removable ads, and completely optional in-app purchases, for those who wish to support the game and its development.

I've played both Grim games and have to say they are well worth the time. The mechanics are simple enough to pick up quickly but deep enough to encourage several play styles. The customizable dungeon generation and difficulty sliders make it flexible and different with every run, and as challenging as you want it to be. Simple, strait forward interface, and no ads required or pushy micro-transactions.

one of the only games of this type that is actually engaging! the skills are meaningful, level progression is more than just numbers, and at no point does it become pay to win. the creators definitely care about the game. Ads are optional and the ad removal option is reasonably priced. I look forward to seeing more from this developer!

I really was enjoying this game then on about level 11 of the first dungeon it stopped giving me dungeon exits. I'd fight almost all the enemies and uncover all the tiles and use all my supplies and items and there'd be no exit (even if it was a scollable board). I've had to pay the 40 gold to leave just so I don't die like 5 times now. Restarting the app doesn't work. So now I can't progress and I'm only level 5. Also there's not very much guidance on the main quests and how to progress

There is always an exit. Sometimes it's obscured by an enemy encounter, though. You can try lowering the difficulty if you have trouble progressing on default settings, or try a different build. As for the guidance, everything you need to know is written in your journal.
