About this game

Grim Quest tries to blend tabletop RPG vibes, familiar dungeon crawling and roguelike mechanics, and a classic turn-based combat system into an accessible and entertaining package. Because of its attention to written storytelling, detailed worldbuilding and abundance of lore, Grim Quest can be similar to a solo Dungeons and Dragons campaign, or even a choose your own adventure book.

Grim Quest is a single player game and can be played offline. It has no lootboxes, energy bars, overpriced cosmetics, content locked behind endless microtransactions, or other modern monetization schemes. Just some unobtrusive ads, permanently removable with a one-time purchase, and completely optional goodies for those who wish to support the game and its development even further.

I really like it. I would love to show my support financially. However, the prices are about 50% higher than im willing to pay for what I would receive. Keep up the good work. Also, the city defense is not worth doing. The gold reward is too low to even cover the cost to rehire casualties. I won a defense that used all 3 factions and got 25 gold as a reward. It cost me 60 gold to replenish my losses. Also, as the enemy numbers diminish, the damage they do should also go down.

It's a lot of fun. I wish some of the random events were a bit more varied (and it seems the 2 action vs. 1 action per turn option may be a little unbalanced?; in any case, it's more fun with two actions per turn). But overall, I'm having a great time playing this game on the bus and during the moments of my day where I have some down time.

This game is very fun and is good to pass the time with, I only have one, albeit small or nearly insignificant, complaint. When I first played this game, I was soon confused by item descriptions, in terms of effect and buff durations, even though the item descriptions may say that the effect of said item lasts for a little while, it is not a concrete description of the duration. I just wish that the description of an item's effect also included a duration described in turns or what activates it.

Item buffs last for one dungeon level if consumed on the dungeon floor, or for one combat encounter if consumed hastily in combat. It's mentioned in the tutorial.
