About this game

Grim Quest is a classic turn-based, dungeon crawling RPG with optional roguelike elements. It puts a lot of emphasis on atmosphere and immersion, using dark visuals, somber music, and lots of written text to draw you into its gritty and mind-bending world. Because of its attention to world-building and abundance of lore, Grim Quest is often compared to a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) campaign, or even a choose your own adventure book.

Grim Quest has no multiple currencies, limiting timers, overpriced cosmetics, content locked behind endless microtransactions, or other modern monetization schemes. Just a few unobtrusive and removable ads, and completely optional in-app purchases, for those who wish to support the game and its development.

Mechanics are straightforward with a simple foundation but with complexity as you find synergies between different skills and abilities. There are ads, but they aren't terribly intrusive, and the price to turn off the ads seems reasonable. All in all one of the better mobile games I've seen in some time that isn't a port.

Good game. Couple problems. The main one and easiest one to improve is adding some nuance to make combat more interesting. Right now, you just click the screen, run through the same battles over and over. Howabout adding timing to attacks, like the reload function in mass effect, where if you time it right, you reload instantly. The mercenary system is far too basic, borderline pointless. Again, there needs to be something here besides clicking... Timing, positioning of troops, etc.

I am completely blind so it is hard to find games that incorporate the talk back feature. This one does pretty well. My only issue. Is the learning curve. Not of the game but of the talk back functionality. Moving through different tabs and through the dungeons are very easy once you have figured out how it works. Sometimes I have to lock the phone and Reopen the phone because I get stuck in one of the tabs and cannot back out of it. Resetting the talk back feature does not help. Great game 11 \5
