About this app

Create sampled beats the original 90's way using eSPi.
The SP-1200 was the primary tool of many legendary hip-hop beatmakers and house music producers in the 90's.
It is well known for its gritty sound and simple but effective workflow.

Now with eSPi you get to experience this machine right at your fingertips.
Import samples or record them yourself, chop them up, pitch them and sequence them within the app.

Features include multiple filters, effects, a compressor, and most importantly the best emulation of the gritty signature sound produced by the SP-1200* when pitching samples up & down.

eSPi is also available on Mac, Linux & PC.

Only one con that I have is the Bluetooth latency. I can playback my work just fine. When I try to create and manipulate through Bluetooth is lags a bit. It is not a problem that makes me angry. Maybe I am doing something wrong and you guys can help me. I enjoy this program. I will not say app because I see apps as games with ads. This monster is no game. I love that eSPi is for iOS and Android devices. I'm all over the place with my review. Get this program! You will never regret it. Peace.

love the workflow . what can be said if you have ever worked with SP 1200 then youll love this app. and even if you never have, you'll get the experience here and it's very addicting really quick. not to say it's not without it's bugs but it's still pretty new so I'm sure they'll work these out, for instance like I am having issues with headphones staying connected

Man... I've never used an SP1200 but always wanted to. My friend owns one but that's him. Now I can get my Pete Rock on! Seriously though, I've been playing around with this and I am impressed. Plus I just don't have the finances to keep up with getting equipment. Madlib gets down on whatever, no excuses for me. Between this, Koala and Cubasis on my tablet, I can keep the boom bap alive!
