About this app

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office mobile application is an interactive
app, designed to enhance communication between the HCSO and
Hernando County residents, businesses, and visitors. Information available
includes: emergency notifications, active calls and traffic crashes, sex
offender information, crime prevention information, job line information and
much more. Citizens may submit a tip (including an image, video, or audio)
directly to Crime Stoppers through the app. The Hernando County Sheriff’s
Office will use the app to alert citizens (in specific geographical areas) of
vital information regarding law enforcement activity and/or to share crime
prevention information. The app will be integrated with all of HCSO’s
current social media platforms.

why does this app ask to have access to photos, media, location, to directly make calls, access to ready my SD content, access to my contacts and take pictures and videos. be aware of what you are giving premission to what this law enforcement app wants. sounds very big brotherish.

Thank you for your feedback. All permissions asked for are needed for specific use cases in app such as saving locally to cache for loading speeds in app, attaching photos to tips, making calls from within the app, showing local weather and your location on the map, etc. Also, this app does not gather any identifiable information during any usage.

Weather map is not loading! It shows no weather radar data. Other maps shows large t-storm 5 miles east of me. All Hernando Alerts a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating!
