About this app

It gives you a rough idea of how long it will take to read. There’s a function to estimate how many seconds it will take, and a timer to measure how long it actually takes to read aloud. You can also see the number of words.

It’s as easy and simple to use as a to‑do list.

Around 50 languages are supported, and you can set the language the memo is written in to get a more accurate time estimate.

You can protect your privacy with a password feature.

There’s also a backup feature that lets you save your notes to the device’s local storage.

■ Use cases
People giving speeches, presentations or announcements
By knowing how long it takes to read a speech, presentation or announcement aloud, you can predict how long your presentation will take and whether you’ll finish within the allotted time.

It can also be used to help improve your speech, presentation and delivery skills. You can keep track of how long your presentations take so you can monitor your progress. The app also allows you to record the content of your presentation, which can be used as a reference to recall the content later. Recording what you present also helps you track how you deliver it.

■ Review by a person who experienced it firsthand

1. My presentation skills have greatly improved since using this app. By recording how long it takes me to give a presentation, I can keep track of my pacing and adjust my speed accordingly. Recording what I presented and the materials I used was very helpful for recalling the content later.

I used this app when I was struggling to keep my presentation under 10 minutes because of a time limit at university. The app gives a rough estimate of how many seconds it will take, and you can also record how many seconds it actually took you to read it. I write notes to get a rough idea of how many seconds it will take, then use the timer to record my actual reading speed. Since using this app, I’ve been able to put my presentation together much faster and I haven’t gone over time.
