The latest update requires unlocking my phone to take a voice note which it didn't before, and it's obviously to push ads. This was a great app before and it is essentially unusable now, because the whole point was to not have a UI that would show me ads. I actually bought the pro version sometime ago and just never configured it, I wanted to support the devs but the free version was so good that I didn't need to set up the pro version. Now I do, and I'll obviously never let it update.

One of the only audio recording apps that does NOT force the microphone to use noise cancelation. Therefore it picks up the distant frogs, crickets, and birds in the woods, which is what I use it for. Plus this allows a presenter in the front of a room to be recorded from the back of the room. Interface is simple and the app has never crashed on me in the 2 years I've been using it. Ads are minimal and never show up while in record mode, only in playback mode.

The recorder works well as far as I know. I switched from another recording app which I had trouble navigating. I didn't want fancy. I wanted easy. I know this app can do more than I am using it for but as long as it records and plays easily, I am happy. Also, it lets you easily rename the recordings. And, the company quickly responded to a question I had about the upgrade price. (It's a one time fee. Not monthly.) Yea! =)
