AI Description
The chess AI we developed for this app uses the minimax algorithm with alpha-beta pruning to calculate which moves to make. There are six difficulty levels in the app, each level corresponding to the depth of the search used in the minimax algorithm. The highest difficulty is 6, which corresponds to 3 full chess moves.

Ratings and reviews

Very solid offline chess app. Good 2 player experience, no ads. - Issues - • The move list can't be copied to clipboard. A touch-hold to copy feature would go a long way. • Lv 6 single player AI always plays the same move in the same position. • Lv 6 AI also seems to have a problem where late in the game it will consistently make weird moves that let it get checkmated out of nowhere. IE it plays the ONLY move that leads to it losing to mate-in-1. Maybe it misinterprets enemy checkmate?

Great app ! I play it with my kids, we like it very much, thank you. Would it be possible to add an option to rotate the pieces icons for each turn or per colors, when playing 2 players ? (So it is easier to play with each player holding one side of the phone). Also, there seems to sometimes be a bug with checkmate and stalemate (I had a stalemate while the king was checked, so it should have been a checkmate if I understood correctly).

It doesn't work. My Father and I were led to believe that you could play this with 2 people offline, each of us on our own device utilizing Bluetooth capabilities to do so. Just because you actually responded we shall try using it again. Now that we are aware of all it's limitations we shall hopefully have a better time than our previous attempts. We were looking for a chess app that lets you change the style of the chess pieces.
