NEW TESTAMENT
The New Testament is the second part of the Bible and is composed of a set of books and letters written after Jesus' death.
In the New Testament we find a lot of information about the life of Jesus, his action on earth, his evangelization and his teachings.
While Christians share the Old Testament with the Jews, the New Testament is uniquely Christian.
In the Christian religion both the Old and New Testaments are considered the Holy Scriptures.
The New Testament is composed of 27 books, corresponding to the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the epistles and the final chapter called Revelation. They were written by their authors in Koine Greek, the lingua franca of the eastern part of the Roman Empire.
The word "Testament" comes from the Hebrew "Berith", which means covenant, convention, and refers to the Covenant between God and human beings.
VERSION João FERREIRA
The João Ferreira Bible is the most used Bible by Protestant Christian churches.
João Ferreira de Almeida was a Portuguese missionary, translator and writer who undertook the first translation of the Bible into Portuguese in the 17th century. In 1819 the first edition of the Bible translated by Almeida was published, with the revised and updated versions which continue to be used today by evangelical Christians in the Portuguese language.
The JFAA Bible edition is one of the best versions of the Almeida Bible, it has a simple and easy to understand language.
